MONARCH MEN'S TENNIS TO HOST FDU-FLORHAM ON WEDNESDAY

WILKES-BARRE, PA --- The second-seeded King's College men's tennis team will host third-seeded FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the Kirby Park Tennis Courts in the semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Tournament.

The Monarchs enter the match with a 13-6 overall record and went 5-1 in conference play. King's defeated FDU-Florham 6-3 to open conference play back on April 5th. Sophomore Tyler Millan has led the Monarchs with a 20-4 record playing number two singles. Freshman Austin Mackey is 19-6 playing mainly number four singles while Jason Homschek has recorded a 15-9 record. Nathan Carl has gone 13-10 this year playing number one singles while Terry Briggs is 11-10 at number three singles. Cameron Tuck has recorded a 12-9 record mainly playing number five singles.

The Devils enter the match with a 15-4 overall record and went 4-2 against the MAC Freedom. Max Moscowitz has gone 16-6 at number one while Kevin Weller has a 15-6 record at number two singles. Chris Ly is 19-3 at number three while Steven Serras hasa 9-6 singles record. Tyler Schacher is 12-8 this year and Chris Fiorenza has built a 15-2 record.

In the first matchup this year King's won two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches. Carl and Moscowitz at number one and Briggs and Ly at number three both went three sets.

This is the sixth straight year King's and FDU-Florham has met in the semifinals with the home team winning each of the previous five meetings. The Devils won the last two semifinal matches in New Jersey. Top-seeded Wilkes University will play DeSales University in the other semifinal match right next door at the Ralston Athletic Complex at the same time. The winners will faceoff on Saturday at the site of the highest seed.
