Last Time Out: King's dropped a tough 2-0 decision to Susquehanna University on Wednesday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre. The Monarchs controlled possession for much of the game but were unable to get many shots off and the River Hawks capitalized on an opportunity in each half following a Monarch turnover in the midfield and a long pass into the box.
The Book On The Monarchs (2-2):
- Junior Danielle Putnam led the Monarchs to two wins last week scoring both game-winning goals and adding an assist. On Monday she named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office for her performance. The forward is ranked 17th in the nation in game-winning goals and tied for sixth in the conference with five points.
- Junior Sophia Sacknievich has come off the bench this season to provide goals for the offense this year by scoring twice in four games. Her two goals are the third-most scored in the MAC Freedom and she is tied for eighth in the conference with four points.
- Three sophomores have also done damage for King's this season. Emma Baumbusch is second in the conference with two assists, Emily Harrington has added a goal scored and an assist, and Stephane Corea has recorded an assist.
- King's is outshooting their opponents 45-27. They are averaging 11.3 shots per game and allowing 6.8. The Monarchs are third in the conference with 6.75 corner kicks per game taking 27 corners. The Monarchs have given up just 11 corners to their opponents.
- Freshman keeper Tara Bender has made 13 saves in 326:13 minutes of action this season while facing 27 shots. She has a goals against average of 1.66 and a save percentage of .684.
- The Monarchs have the fourth-highest scoring average in the conference at 1.25.
- King's is 6-10-1 all-time against the Lions including a 2-5-1 record when playing in Reading. Albright won last year's meeting in Reading 1-0 on a breakaway goal in the 50th minute.
The Book On The Lions (4-0-1):
- Albright enters Saturday night's match with a 4-0-1 record after defeating Wesley 3-1 in Dover on Wednesday. The Lions are 2-0-1 in the confines of Shirk Stadium this season with victories over Marywood and McDaniel along with a 2-2 draw with DeSales.
- Sophomore Lauren Haley is tied atop the MAC Commonwealth with 13 points on six goals and one assist. Her 33 shots are the most in the conference. Nationally she is ranked 21st with 6.60 shots per game, fourth with 5.40 shots on goal per game, 13th in total goals, and 27th in total points.
- Senior Kennedy Lutz has also done some damage for the Lions recording four goals and one assist. She is third in the conference in scoring and 17th in the nation with two game-winning goals.
- Junior Jillian Lapidus has scored twice this year while taking just five shots. Emily Mollica and Olivia Donkus have also scored a goal each for Albright.
- The Lions are scoring 2.80 goals per game while allowing 1.20. They have outshot teams 91-65 while putting 61 shots on goal. Three of their goals have come on penalty kicks while they have earned 29 corner kicks and defended 22. They are second in the MAC Commonwealth in nearly every offensive category behind defending National Champions Messiah.
- Senior Alexis Tunney has seen most of the action in goal recording a 3-0-1 record while making 23 saves. Her .852 save percentage is fourth-best in the conference as well as her 4.60 saves per game. She has a goals against average of 0.90 while facing 50 shots.
