Box Score 2 ONEONTA, NY (September 14, 2018) -- The King's College women's volleyball team dropped its opening match of the 2018 Hartwick Invitational to the host Hawks of Hartwick College, but rebounded to take a four-set victory in the second match of the day over SUNY Poly in play from Lambros Arena. King's fell to Hartwick 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-12, responding with a 22-25, 29-27, 25-19 and 25-18 victory over the Wildcats of SUNY Poly.

The Monarchs evened the match at a set apiece after earning a 25-21 victory in the second game, but Hartwick rattled off two in a row to earn the home victory.
Rachel Miller posted a team-high 12 kills along with 14 digs, while freshman
Christie Brown added seven kills. Freshman
Wiatt Hoffmann posted 25 assists and 12 digs, while fellow newcomer
Taylor Mueller led all players with 18 digs along with three aces.

Danielle Kitchner added six kills and two blocks for the Monarchs.
King's 3, SUNY Poly 1
Miller was amazing offensively for the Monarchs, as she powered down 24 kills while adding 22 digs to finish just one shy of 1,000 for her career in the four-set win. Sophomore
Rachel Galante added nine kills for King's, posting three blocks, while Hoffmann finished with 36 assists.
Freshman Toni Gallaso chalked up 13 digs, while Mueller once again led the Monarchs with defensive saves with 34. Sophomore
Alyssa Robinson also chalked up 11 assists, and
Becca Goldberg tallied three blocks. Kitchner also posted seven kills for KC (7-2) in the win.

King's (7-2) will take on Hilbert College and SUNY Oneonta Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and noon respectively in the second day of action from the Hartwick Invitational.
