WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (September 24, 2018) – The volleyball team continues its pursuit of MAC Freedom success on the road against Eastern University (12-3) in St. David's, Pa. at The Gymnasium at St. David's on Wednesday night. This will be the third conference match for King's College (10-3) this season as they currently hold a 1-1 record in MAC Freedom play. King's comes off a 3-0 win against Bryn Athyn while the Eagles just competed in the Eastern University Quad where they lost 3-2 against Johns Hopkins University and won back-to-back matches against Washington & Lee University and Widener University.

Rachel Miller took charge with her 19 kills for the matchup, Wiatt Hoffman contributed to the win with her 38 assists and
Taylor Mueller was strong on defense for nine digs as well as a service ace.

- Rachel Miller tallied nine kills and eight digs as a junior in that match.

- Eastern University also holds a conference record of 1-1 after a win against Misericordia University 3-1.
- The Eagles hold the No. 1 spot in hitting percentage (.218), assists per set (12.20), kills per set (12.67) and blocks per set (1.98 avg/s) in the MAC Freedom.
- Second-year Caroline Shelby has a season total of 204 kills, earning 28 in last weeks quad.
- Shelby is first in the conference for attacks per set with 11.83.
- Senior Michelle Paulsen hit 10 kills and eight blocks against Washington and Lee University tallying 498 in her career.
- Paulsen hit .455 with 11 kills in their following match against Widener University, while Senior Sarah Roberts hit .533 with 10 kills.
- Junior Cecilia Bauer is the Eagles leader in digs with 269 total this season.
- Third-year Morgan Kline leads the team in assists averaging 10.98 per set and is ranked first in MAC Freedom.

Up Next: The Monarchs hit the road again to Chester, Pa. where they will participate in the Widener University Tri-Match on Saturday, September 29. Beginning at 12 p.m. the Monarchs will face Ursinus College then return at 2pm to battle the Widener Pride.
