WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 3, 2019) — The Monarchs face New York University and the College of New Jersey this Friday, January 4, in a double dual starting at 12:00 p.m. in Ewing, N.J. In a quick turnaround, King's College travels to Oswego, N.Y. the next day to battle Rochester Institute of Technology followed by SUNY Oswego also beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Last Time Out: King's traveled to Lycoming College where the Warriors hosted the Lycoming Duals. The squad was able to pull out some exciting wins with Dakota Quick and Matt Sparks going 3-1 for the day. The Monarchs fell to Penn Tech College (11-33), Muhlenberg College (12-39), Lycoming (0-59) and University of Pittsburgh-Bradford (16-30).
The Book on the Monarchs:

At the Lycoming duals, Nick Price split 2-2 with his two victories coming from a pin and a 14-1 major decision.

Freshmen Kade Kravits has wrestled in every meet with the team so far this season and split 2-2 at Lycoming winning both bouts by decision. Kravits is currently third for team points with 16.

Sparks holds the best record of the team so far with 18-7 while Quick is not too far behind at 14-9.

The team has a total of 160.5 points earned for the season and are 45-51 in individual contests.

Quick is the team leader in pin falls recording ten in his 23 matches as well as team points contributing 67.
The Book on the Violets:

NYU is 3-1 overall with a .750 winning percentage.

The Violets placed fourth in the Citrus Invitational accumulating 160.5 points for the two day, 13-team event.

Will Crisco (133) and Dylan Dwyer (157) placed second in their respective weight classes.

Also finishing among the top five in their weight classes were Lyons (third place; 149 pounds), Zuckerman (third place; 174 pounds), Murdoch (fourth place; 165 pounds), Drill (fifth place; 141 pounds), Karam (fifth place; 157 pounds) and Loughney (fifth place; 165 pounds).

NYU finished the event with the second-most pins, winning 26 bouts by fall.
The Book on the Lions:

The Lions are ranked No. 18 in the NCAA Division III.

The 15th-ranked Lions defeated 18th-ranked New York University 29-15 before going on to defeat the host United States Merchant Marine Academy 34-12.

Robert Dinger leads the team in wins/losses going 3-0 in dual meets, 14-6 in tournaments making him 17-6 overall.

Dinger also holds the top spot on the team for pins with six.
The Book on the Tigers:

Horton (133) claimed his first tournament title making him 15-5 for the season.

Winters is ranked second in Division III at 157 pounds advanced to 17-0 for the season with 10 pins at the invitational and winning the title.

King won the title for the 165-pound weight class and improved to 13-3 after winning all five of his bouts.
The Book on the Lakers:

The Lakers spilt a pair of dual matches falling to No. 4 Ithaca College 31-11 but defeating Jamestown Community College 33-22.

This was the team's first dual meet of the season putting them at 1-1.

Hoffmier (165), Seymour (174) and Dawkins (197) all left with victories.

Reed had the teams only pin of the day in his matches opening period (2:22) of the 197-pound contest.
Up Next: The Monarchs head to the Mid-Winter Classic on Saturday, January 12, in Williamsport, PA that will be hosted by Penn College. The action will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Lewis H. Bardo Gymnasium.
