OSWEGO, N.Y. (January 5, 2019) — King's College competed well as a team in the New York/Pennsylvania Duals but unfortunately came up short versus SUNY Oswego (42-8) and Rochester Institute of Technology (54-0).

Matt Sparks contributed two victories to King's, Quick is just two more successes from hitting 50 career wins as a Monarch.
Dueling Oswego, Quick and Sparks were the two victories put up by the Monarchs both earning a major decision against their opponents. Quick came out on top 19-6 versus Wyatt Gorman in the 133-weight class. The junior put up some exceptional stats recording two near falls, three reversals, an escape and a takedown. Sparks won 13-5 in the 149 class over William Hardin. Choosing bottom in the second period, Sparks grabbed an escape and remained in control the rest of the bout solidifying his triumph.

Nick Price (174) and Isaac Mensah (197) improved their techniques from the previous day but were unable to clinch any wins after being pinned.

King's made an effort but emerged winless versus RIT.
The Monarchs will compete at the Mid-Winter Classic hosted by Penn College on Saturday, January 12, in Williamsport, PA beginning at 9:00 a.m. Â
