Men's Swimming Comes Up Short At Cabrini

RADNOR, PA (October 26, 2019) -- The King's College men's swimming team, competing short-handed on Saturday due to some injuries, battled hard but eventually fell to host Cabrini University 111.5-93.5 in a non-conference meet from Dixon Center Pool. 

King's started the day with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Joel Williams, Kris Boxter, Thomas Montvydas and Ryan Bixler posted a three-second win with a time of 1:44.65. 

In the first individual event, freshman Jared Stephan continued his strong start to the season with a 10:17.06, pulling away for an 11-second win. Junior Andrew Johnson was third in the event with a 12:21.09.

Freshman Erik Aguero would register a 1:56.87 in the 200 freestyle to take second place, and Bixler would follow in the 50 free to take second with a 23.40. The 200 IM was another win for Stephan, as the newcomer chalked up a four second victory with a time of 2:07.83 to earn the nine points. 

In the 200 butterfly KC would go 1-2-3, as Montvydas swam a winning time of 2:11.95, while Erik Aguero was right behind his teammate with a 2:12.65. Christopher Boucher was third after swimming a 2:16.07 in the 200 fly. 

The 100 freestyle saw Bixler pick up a second play thanks to a 51.48 from Bixler, while Matthew Lowry was fifth with a 56.93. In the 200 backstroke, Williams would tie for third play with a 2:12.54. 

Stephan was back in the pool for the 500 freestyle, and took second with a time of 5:04.42, with Boucher taking third place after swimming 5:26.26. The 200 breaststroke saw Boxter win the event with a 2:20.42, and sophomore Alex Schwartz was third after recording a 2:30.45. 

In the 200 free relay, Boucher, Montvydas, Schwartz and Johnson would record a time of 3:42.44 to finish second. 

King's will return home Friday evening at 6 p.m. to host the Royals of the University of Scranton in action from Scandlon Pool.
