GLENSIDE, PA (November 16, 2019) -- The King's College men's swimming team battled Arcadia University Saturday, winning four races but couldn't pull out the victory in falling to the Knights 166-94.
Freshman
Jared Stephan led the way for the Monarchs (3-3), earning a pair of wins while finishing second as well in the 200 IM after swimming a 2:03.35. In the 500 freestyle, Stephan earned the win with a 5:07.87 and followed that with a personal-best time in the 1000 free of 10:13.48 for a win.
Freshman
Ryan Bixler took second place in the 200 freestyle, swimming a season-best time of 1:54.06. Sophomore
Joel Williams earned one of the Monarchs' wins with a 1:00.89 in the 100 backstroke, and
Kris Boxter posted a season-best 1:03.19 for third place in the 100 breaststroke.
Newcomer
Erik Aguero was second in the 200 butterfly after swimming a 2:15.24, and Chris Boucher finished fourth as well in the event with a 2:17.48. Bixler was second in the 50 freestyle with a 23.79, also taking third in the 100 freestyle after recording a 51.68.
The 200 backstroke saw Williams finish second after posting a time of 2:16.14 and Aguero was third with a strong time of 2:21.65, a season-best. Boxter was back in the pool to take second-place in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:21.13, while Williams returned to post a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a 59.93.
King's hosts the Diamond CIty Invitational next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. at the Wyoming Valley CYC.
