READING, PA (November 23, 2019) -- The King's College wrestling team started its dual meet season on Saturday with two matches at Alvernia University, falling to Ursinus College 43-6 before dropping a 33-18 match with the host Golden Wolves. 

The Monarchs (0-2) started the day against a strong Ursinus team that had a had a lineup full of talent. The match of the day came at 125, as No. 8 Terry Adams of Ursinus topped freshman Gustav Petruske IV 13-8 in a back-and-forth match. 

King's would get its first points at 141, as Robert Zelinski chalked up an 11-8 decision victory, followed by a 5-0 win for sophomore Kade Kravits over Jake Folk at 165. 

Against Alvernia, King's started out on a high note as Petruske pinned Jonatan Portillo of Alvernia 4:30 into the match for an early 6-0 lead. Freshman Liam Farrell picked up a 5-2 decision win at 133 over Alexander Gorlin, and Zelinski finished his day 2-0 with another decision victory with a score of 8-5. 

Kravits was back on the mat to post a win by fall 2:05 into the match over Tanner Vogel, but Alvernia's strength in the heavy weights was the difference. 

King's will take part in the Messiah Petrofes Invitational December 6-7 at Messiah College.
