READING, PA (December 19, 2019) -- After trailing by just four points at the half, 40-36, #18 Albright College used a 25-13 third quarter to hand the King's College women's basketball team their third loss of the season, 82-65. With the road loss, the Monarchs snap their three-game win streak and fall to 5-3 on the season.
Albright started the game on a 7-0 run before a three by sophomore
Samantha Rajza got the Monarchs offense going with 7:19 left in the first. King's kept it close throughout the first, but trailed by eight with 2:51 remaining but pulled within three, 20-17, off a steal by Rajza and a transition layup by senior
Rebecca Prociak. The second quarter was a back-and-forth battle that saw the Monarchs inch within two on four separate occasions, with the final push coming with 2:20 left in the half on a layup by Prociak before the Lions used a 5-0 run to close out the half with a 40-33 halftime lead.

Kayla Dillinger to start the half kep King's within single digits, but Albright was able to use a 6-0 run over the next 1:44 to gain the momentum and maintain a double-digit lead for the remainder of the quarter as they led, 65-46, with one quarter remaining. The Lions continued to ouse their size advantage before posting the final, 82-65, in their last road game of 2019.
Rajza led the Monarchs offense, totaling 21 points on 7-21 shooting, including 3-6 from three, and added a team-high tying four assists and four rebounds. The senior duo of Prociak and
Mackenzie Yori both added 13 points, and Prociak was one board shy of a double-double with nine. Freshman
Emily Morano provided a spurt off the bench again, recording the first double-double of her career with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and sophomore
Emily Kriston dished out a team-high tying four assists and swiped a team-high four steals.
As a team, King's shot 31 percent from the field on 22-71 shooting, dishing out 12 assists on their 22 baskets. They also pulled down 40 rebounds and totaled eight steals. Despite some offensive struggles, the Monarchs held the advantage in points off turnovers (14-11) and second chance points (10-7).
The Monarchs are off as they enjoy the holiday break. They return to action at home after a three-game road stretch as they host Keystone College on New Year's Eve at 1:00 p.m. in McGrane Gymnasium.
