SCRANTON, PA (March 31, 2019) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team dropped their second non-conference contest of the weekend, falling at local rival Marywood University 17-7 in play from Pacers Field Sunday.
The Monarchs (3-8) were led offensively by sophomore
Emma Lehman, who posted a new career-high for goals with four Sunday afternoon. Lehman has now scored nine goals over her last four games. Freshman
Jen O'Connor finished with a team-high seven draw controls, adding a goal and an assist along with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Bailey Jordan added a goal, ground ball and a caused turnover, while fellow newcomer
Emily Sims tallied a goal, four ground balls and four draw controls. Sophomore
Kylie McCarthy also finished with three ground balls, and junior captain
Kelly Pierce finished with a career-high six draw controls while adding three caused turnovers.
King's was outshot on the day by the Pacers, 32-17, while committing a season-high 27 turnovers to just the 18 giveaways from Marywood. King's also struggled on clears on the day, converting six of 17 attempts. The Monarchs did dominate on draws though Sunday, winning 17 of the 26 contested. Sophomore goalkeeper
Orla Cottell made nine saves on the day for King's.
Zoe Simeone posted four goals and an assist for Marywood (6-4), while Molly Yelencsics added four goals. Mary Leahy made six stops in the win for MU.
King's finished non-conference play and now looks forward to Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play Wednesday afternoon, taking on local rival Wilkes University at Schmidt Stadium at 5 p.m. in Edwardsville, PA.
