WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 15, 2020) -- The King's College men's basketball team drop their third straight Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) contest, 76-60, to conference newcomer Stevens. The Ducks (11-3, 2-1 MAC Freedom) outscored the Monarchs (7-7, 0-3 MAC Freedom) 42-25 to take the win over the host on Wednesday night.
Stevens opened the game on an 19-5 run over the first 9:40 of the game before a transition three by senior

King's used an early second-half run to pull within 14, 48-34, with 15:15 to play, but Stevens scored the next seven points to build a 21-point advantage. The Monarchs would continue to chip away at the Ducks lead, but Stevens would not let up as they had an answer for every comeback attempt by King's. The deficit swelled to as much as 24 points (74-50) with 3:13 to play before King's ended the game on a 10-2 run to post the final, 76-60.
Despite the poor shooting, the Monarchs offense was well-balanced tonight. Junior
Brad Kalinowski led with nine points with three assists, while sophomore
Patrick Galvin added eight points on 4-7 shooting, adding six rebounds. Bailey, senior
Andrew Hudak and sophomores
JJ Glinsky and
Kevin Hunter all added seven, with Bailey adding team-highs in both assists (4) and steals (3). Sophomore
Jake Pawliczak crashed the boards to lead King's with eight rebounds.
Stevens saw five in double figures including Spencer Cook (14), Kevin Florio (13), Matt Crowley (12), Michael Zignorski (12), and Dylan Walsh (10). Walsh also recorded a double double, adding 14 rebounds as part of the Ducks' 53 total boards for the game.
As a team, the Monarchs continued to struggle offensively, shooting just 28.6 percent (20-70) for the game and 16.1 percent (5-31) from three. They totaled 39 boards, dished out 13 assists on their 20 made field goals, and forced 21 Stevens turnovers to record 11 steals.
King's will return to play in their road MAC Freedom double header, weather permitting, on Saturday as they travel with the women to FDU-Florham for a 3:00 p.m. start.
