WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 17, 2020) -- On a special night where the Monarch swimming team honored its four women's swimmers in Paige Molnar, Kailie Karensky, Megan Whitt and Abbi Strennen, the Monarchs also turned out well in the pool as KC posted a 128-59 win over Lycoming College in the final home dual meet of the 2019-20 season for King's. 

After the Senior Night festivities prior to the meet, King's came out quickly and earned a win in the 400 medley relay as Elizabeth Savidge, Alexis Majka, Rachel Woomer and Kaelyn Gardner teamed up for a 4:17.73 to edge the Lycoming "A" relay. Sophomore Claire Coe, who doesn't normally swim the 1000 free, fared well in the event with a very strong time of 11:52.66 to just miss her personal best while earning the win. 

The 50 freestyle was a strong event for King's, earning five of the top six spots led by Majka and her 26.41 for the win. Savidge was third with a 27.27, and Strennen scored with a 27.59 as well. Woomer was back in the pool just before the first break in the 400 IM and rolled to a win with a 4:54.81, as teammates Sarah Fleisher (5:08.93) and Gardner (5:15.51) were second and third, respectively as well for KC. 

After the break, King's saw Gardner pick up the win in the 200 butterfly with a steady time of 2:29.14. Coe would take second in the 100 freestyle with a 57.46, while freshman Emilia Serafin posted a huge season-best of 1:01.03. Noelle Pedersen was the winner in the 200 backstroke for King's with a 2:20.88, and Fleisher finished second in the same event with a 2:27.10. Majka added another win to her ledger on win a 5:37.23 in the 500 free, and Woomer was second in the 200 breaststroke after carding a 2:40.97. 

King's dominated the 400 freestyle relay, going 1-2 with times of 4:01.43 (Savidge, Madison Modugno, Coe, Pedersen) for the "A" relay and 4:17.72 for the "B" relay of Karensky, Whitt, Corinne Smith and Stephanie Tabaka. 

The Monarchs will return to action next weekend on the road at Misericordia University at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 25 in Dallas, PA.
