REISTERSTOWN, MD (January 25, 2020) --- Junior
Raeann Clancey scored her fourth goal of the year as the King's College women's ice hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision at Stevenson University on Saturday evening down in Maryland.
Trinity Barcless scored a hat trick for the host Mustangs scoring twice in the first period and once more in the second. Jordan Pirrello and Nikki Kendrick also found the back of the net for Stevenson. Clancey's goal evened the score at one with 9:28 to go in the first period before the Mustangs scored twice in a span of the final six minutes to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Mustangs held a 59-14 shot advantage in the game and scored twice on nine power play opportunities.
Kiva Sierra Stoltz made 54 saves in goal including 24 in the final period. Josee Aitken led the Monarchs with three shots while
Caitlin Redden,
Erin King, and Clancey had two each.
The Monarchs will return to the ice next weekend with two home games against Lebanon Valley and Chatham. KC will take on the Flying Dutchwomen on Saturday night at 7 pm in their ALS Awareness game before hosting the Cougars on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm in the Revolution Ice Centre.
