The Monarchs secured a spot in the MAC Freedom playoffs for the third consecutive season, and they await their seeding after the results from Saturday's contests.
Senior
Mackenzie Yori scored just 13 seconds into the contest to set the tone for the Monarchs in their final regular season home contest. The Cougars answered, trading baskets with the Monarchs as neither team led by more than three points before a pair of Misericordia free throws saw King's trialing by five, 18-13, with 3:28 left in the opening quarter. Each team scored on their following possessions with the Cougars leading, 24-18, after one quarter of action.
King's scored the first seven points of the second quarter to regain the lead, 25-24, but Misericordia responded with a 15-6 run to lead, 39-31, with three minutes left in the half. A 9-4 Monarchs run to end the half cut the deficit to just two points as King's trailed, 42-40, at the break.

King's continued to trail by five with 4:06 to go in the third before recording back-to-back threes from sophomore

Each time the Cougars responded, King's was sent to the free throw line to maintain their four-point advantage, but a Cougar layup with 2:01 to play cut the lead to just one point. Sophomore

Yori connected on a pair of free throws and Rajza added one from the charity stripe over the final stretch to secure the win, 74-68, as each Cougar attempt to tie the game came up short.
