WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 21, 2020) -- King's College got wins by sophomore Kade Kravits at 165 and Billy Grace at 184, but it wasn't enough as crosstown rival Wilkes University earned a 39-9 win over the Monarchs in the final regular season match for the wrestling squad in 2019-20. 

Wilkes (11-10) earned a quick 15-0 lead going into 149, but Colby Spencer battled hard at 149 earning a late takedown to make the score 10-8, but couldn't keep Dylan O'Connor down as he escape late in the third period to take an eventual 11-8 win to put the Colonels up 18-0. 

Following a pin for Wilkes at 157, King's got its first win of the night at 165, as Kravits picked up his 31st victory of the campaign in resounding fashion. Kravits wasted no time earning a takedown with 47 seconds remaining in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Kravits started down in the second and quickly escaped, before taking Walters down to earn a 5-0 lead. 

During that takedown, Kravits was able to earn four back points to gain a 9-0 lead, eventually rolling to a 16-0 technical fall win early in the third period. The Colonels clinched the match at 174 with a technical fall victory, but freshman Billy Grace responded with a solid 13-2 major decision win by a score of 13-2. Grace has won three of his last four bouts, his best stretch as a Monarchs. 

That was all of the points that the Monarchs would accumulate though, as the Colonels earned a major decision at 197 before picking up a pin at 285. King's will compete in day one of the 2020 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships Friday evening at Messiah College.
