HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (February 4, 2020) -- The King's College wrestling team had trouble shaking off some rust from a nine-day hiatus from action, as the Monarchs dropped a road dual meet to hosting Centenary University 51-0 Tuesday evening.
The Cyclones captured all 10 weight classes, though some matches were highly contested including at 165 and at 174. Sophomore
Kade Kravits and Jeremy Nurnberger went back-and-forth at 165, but a late attempt by Kravits to escape didn't come through and the riding time point also went to Nurnberger to give CU a 7-5 decision win.
At 174,
Isaac Mensah battled well against Alex Donovan but Donovan picked up a couple of takedowns en route to a 10-2 major decision win. Freshman
David White also fell at 197 by major decision to Justin Hopman 12-2.
The Monarchs will return to action on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m. in Elizabethtown, PA for a non-conference dual match.
