READING, PA (February 8, 2020) --- Sophomore
Danielle Kitchner threw over 10 meters in the shot put for the third time in her career to finished 12th in the field of 35 at the Plex Shootout hosted by Alvernia University on Saturday.
In a field consisting of a lot of throwers that will also be competing at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in a few weeks, Kitchner threw 10.06 meters (33'5.75") on her third throw. That mark is the second best toss of her career. She started the day with a throw of 10.05 meters and then hit 9.65 meters on her second attempt.
Misericordia sophomore Brenna Karnish topped the field with a mark of 12.99 meters (42'7.5") on her first attempt of the day. Stevenson senior Danika Ani was second with a mark of 12.55 meters (41'2.25") on her third toss. Widener freshman Amaya Reed-Clark was third with a throw of 11.85 meters (38'10.5") on her sixth attempt.
Kitchner and the rest of the Monarchs will be back in action next Saturday when they make their second trip to Susquehanna this year for the SU Invitational.
