KISSIMMEE, FL (March 4, 2020) -- Sophomore
Nick Holland earned a victory at No. 5 singles for the Monarchs, but the King's College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Adrian College (MI) in action from the Oak Streen Community Park.
The Monarchs (1-7), who were playing shorthanded due to injury, had to forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, but still battled throughout. Juniors
Cameron Tuck and
Jason Homschek pushed Ronald Ducharme and Ryan Cuddy of Adrian at No. 2 doubles, but the Bulldog pair was able to top King's 8-4.
In singles play, Holland was the highlight for the Monarchs as he battled back from a 6-2 first set loss to win the second set 6-4. In the super-tiebreaker, Holland played flawlessly as he earned a 10-5 win in the tiebreak to pick up the 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 win.
The Monarchs will return to action Thursday morning, finishing play from Florida with a match-up against Saint Vincent College at 8 a.m. from Orlando, FL and the USTA National Campus.
