WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 27, 2021) – The United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) released the 2021-22 Women's Players to Watch List on Wednesday afternoon which included three student-athletes from the King's College women's team.

Thirty-three players from the 11 UCHC women's institutions have been selected as Players to Watch for the 2021-22 season. The list serves as an annual preseason honor roll of players expected to make an impact on their teams, and on the conference picture as the season gets underway this weekend.

The Monarchs had Josée Aitken, Meghan Mietlicki, and Emma Dos Santos selected to the list. Aitken makes her third appearance on the Preseason Watch List by the conference as a fifth year forward. She is the program record holder with 26 career points on 13 goals and 13 assists. Mietlicki is a senior who led the team with 73 blocked shots in 2018-19 and was twice named an All-MAC honorable mention selection on defense. Dos Santos will look to make an impact as a forward in her sophomore year as a technically skilled player with game knowledge and competitive drive to match.

The 2021-22 regular season kicks off the weekend of Oct. 29-31. UCHC conference play starts on Nov. 4-5. The top eight teams advance to the 2022 UCHC Championship Tournament, which takes place with quarterfinal play on Feb. 22, semifinals on Feb. 26 and the league championship March 5. The UCHC Champion earns an automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
