Diacont's Early Goal Difference in Men's Soccer Victory over Misericordia

WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 30, 2021) --- Buck Diacont scored in the 15th minute to give the King's College men's soccer team the edge in a 1-0 win over Misericordia on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

First-year Dylan Domchek initiated the play with a beautiful lofted ball into the box. Kevin Kolaski then got his head to the ball and sent it to the feet of Diacont who took it past the Misericordia goalkeeper, Andrew Daubenspeck, and passed it into the back of the net. The goal marked Diacont's fifth of the season, and his second game-winner.

The KC defense held strong throughout the match to keep the Cougars from getting on the board. King's goalkeeper, Cole Catherman, was stellar in goal making nine saves to tie his career high. Catherman also make several key clearances to keep the Cougars from having any good chances and post the first shutout of his career.

Misericordia held a 15-12 shot advantage in the match, including 9-6 on goal. Kyle Shalvey led the Monarchs with four shots, three on goal.

Next up for the King's College men's soccer team will be the conference playoffs. Their opponent as well as the time and date of the match have yet to be determined.
