WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 11, 2021) -- The King's College men's basketball team shot 42.1 percent from the floor on their way to a dominating 91-49 win over Penn State Lehigh Valley on Thursday evening in McGrane Gymnasium. The Monarchs also recorded 46 three-point attempts, the most in a single game in program history as they topped the previous mark of 42 set against Ferrum in 2009.
The Monarchs (1-1) came out firing early, leading 12-0 fueled by five points from senior
JJ Glinsky, before Penn State Lehigh Valley (1-1) got on the board with 15:11 left in the opening half. The Nittany Lions pulled within single digits, 15-6, with 12:42 to go, but the Monarchs continued to build their advantage, leading by as much as 19, 38-19, on a layup from first year

Patrick Galvin with 1:15 to play in the half. Neither team could score in the final minute of play as King's took the 38-19 lead into the halftime break.
King's continued to cruise through this game, opening the second half on a 20-7 run capped off by a three from first year

Basimakopoulos led the Monarchs with a career-high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, in just 14 minutes of action. Glinsky also came off the bench to spark the offense with 17 points with five three's and two assists, while Patton continued his solid play with 16 tallies, five boards, and two steals. Faux led the Monarchs with six rebounds, while sophomore
Carmine Castiello recorded a team-high three steals with four assists. Senior
Noah Tanner also matched the team-best four assists and added two steals.
Dajour Douglas led the Nittany Lions with eight points off the bench, while Travis Biney recorded a game-high 10 rebounds.
In addition to their 42.1 percent shooting from the floor, the Monarchs also connected for 32.6 percent from three, totaling 15 three's, while holding Penn State Lehigh Valley to 30.9 percent shooting for the game and 22.2 percent on three's. As a team, King's assisted on 23 of their 32 baskets while grabbing 40 team rebounds and forcing 31 Nittany Lions turnovers. Inside the stat sheet, the Monarchs held the advantage in points off turnovers (34-2), second chance points (20-11), bench points (56-29), points in the paint (32-20), and fast break points (13-2).
King's is back in action on Saturday as they begin their three-game road stretch, beginning with a short trip to Penn State Scranton on Saturday, November 13 for a 1:00 p.m. start.
