WILLIAMSPORT, PA (November 17, 2021) -- The King's College men's basketball team outscored the host Penn College Wildcats, 54-33, in the second half to propel the Monarchs to a 87-58 win in Williamsport on Wednesday night. King's improves to 3-1 on the season with its third consecutive win while the Wildcats fall to 0-3.
It was a slow start to the game as it took almost two whole minutes for either team to get on the board before a three from Max Jackowsky broke the scoreless start. A back-and-forth effort saw neither team leading by more than four points before a 7-0 King's run capped off by a three from sophomore
Peri Basimakopoulos with 10:44 left in the half saw the Monarchs leading, 15-9.
A battle down the stretch had the Monarchs ahead, 25-23, with 2:37 to play before King's ended the half on a 8-2 run to take the 33-25 lead into the halftime break.
The Monarchs opened the second half on a 24-6 run over the first 8:08 of play, and Penn College could not recover.

Noah Tanner and first year
Chris Patton led the scoring in the road win, each scoring 15 points. Patton shot 5-for-10 from the floor with two three's, four rebounds, and two steals, while Tanner went 6-for-9 with a team-high tying four assists and two steals.
Carmine Castiello came off the bench with the hot hand, adding 13 points, including four rebounds and four assists. Senior
Patrick Galvin continued to fill the stat sheet with a team-high seven boards, adding nine points, two steals, and a block.
Jackowsky led the Wildcats with 11 points and three blocks, Jess White totaled eight boards, and Gavin Barret recorded seven assists and three steals.
As a team, the Monarchs shot 43.1 percent (31-72) from the floor with 11 three's, while connecting on 14 of their 17 attempts from the charity stripe, shooting 82.4 percent. King's collected 29 team rebounds and added 14 assists, while the defense forced 30 Wildcats turnovers and got 16 steals. King's also held the advantage inside the stat sheet in points off turnovers (30-9), second chance points (7-5), bench points (35-25), points in the paint (36-28), and fast break points (12-8).
The Monarchs finish their road stretch on Saturday as they take on the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College on Saturday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. King's will return home to host the Defenders of Clarks Summit University on Monday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. in McGrane Gymnasium.
