King's Wrestling Finishes 1-2 In Home Quad Match

WILKES-BARRE, PA (December 11, 2021) --- The King's College wrestling team hosted a quad match on Saturday featuring Alvernia University, Muhlenberg College, and the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford. The Monarchs defeated Pitt-Bradford in the opening match before dropping the final two matches to a pair of high competitive sides in Muhlenberg and Alvernia.

In a 39-6 win over the Panthers, King's received strong performances from Noah Clawson, Jackson Marcantonio, Kade Kravits, Billy Grace, and Jason Sine. Clawson earned a 17-0 tech. fall at 141 over Farhid Negahban. Marcantonio notched a minor decision win at 165 for KC, followed up by a major decision win at 174 from Kravits. Sine defeated Nathan Prowley at 197 in an 11-4 minor decision. The win marked the first of head coach Josh Roosa's career at King's.

King's held their own against a sturdy squad in Muhlenberg. After recieving a forfeit win against Pitt-Bradford, Gus Petruske IV made his presence felt against the Mules by pinning Ricky Caamano in just fifty-three seconds in the 133 weight class. Clawson continued his impressive outing with another 17-0 tech. fall at 141. Kravits proved his dominance again at 174, this time with a pin on Fletcher Goodman of the Mules. The Monarchs dropped the match with a final score of 31-21 in favor of Muhlenberg.

In the third and final match of the day, King's took on the burly Golden Wolves of Alvernia. Petruske got the Monarchs rolling with his second pin of the day, this time in one minute and fifty eight seconds. Marcantonio fought hard at 157 to earn a 3-1 minor decision over Ryan Lesko. Kravits completed his stellar day with a 2-0 win over Gavin Hollingsworth. The Golden Wolves came out on top with a final score of 24-18. 

Petruske finished the day 3-0, with two pins, while Kravits went 3-0 with one pin. 

The Monarchs will return to action on December 20th when they travel to Lycoming College for the Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Duals.
