Monarch Wrestling Takes Part in Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Duals

WILLIAMSPORT, PA (December 20, 2021) --- The King's College wrestling squad had some strong individual performances at the Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Duals on Monday, but lost all four matches to New Jersey City University, Penn College, SUNY Cortland, and host Lycoming College. 

In the first match of the day, the Monarchs faced off against the Gothic Knights of NJCU. Noah Clawson got KC on the board when he earned a 7-2 decision win over Enrique Cuevas at 141. Junior Robert Zelinski followed up with a win at 149, defeating Michael Cross 15-4 in a major decision. Kade Kravits wasted no time in his bout at 174, earning a pin on Tyler Bailey in the first period. NJCU would go on to defeat King's 30-19. 

King's then took on Penn College, a team which they saw earlier in the year at the Ned McGinely Invitational. After sitting out the first match against NJCU, first-year Nick Germano earned a 7-2 decision win over Charles Trimber at 133. Kravits continued his stellar performance against the Wildcats with another pin, this time in just over two minutes on Garrett Storch. In his collegiate debut, Richard Fronheiser earned his first win in a 14-1 major decision over Derek Kallenborn at 197. Penn College edged out the Monarchs 25-19. 

The third match for KC featured another opponent which the Monarchs competed against at the Ned McGinley Invitational in SUNY Cortland. Sophomore Cameron Leslie fought hard to earn his squad three points at 165 in a 3-2 decision win over James Udasco. Billy Grace earned his first win of the day against the Red Dragons with a 9-1 majority decsion at 184. Fronheiser kept things rolling at 197, earning his second win of the day in a 6-1 decision win over Chris Bold. Cortland picked up the victory over King's with a final score of 31-9. 

In the final match of the day, King's took on host Lycoming College. Germano notched his second win of the day at 133 with a 5-2 decision over Thomas Conseleya. Kravits finished his day with a commanding victory over Hunter Charles, earning his quickest pin of the day in just one minute and thirty-two seconds. Grace posted his second of the day against the Warriors with a 9-1 majority decision on Matthew Knapp.

The King's College wrestling team will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they compete in the Wilkes Open Duals starting at 9 am.
