YORK, PA (March 27, 2021) -- The King's College men's tennis team played its first road match of the 2021 season Saturday, claiming an 8-1 victory over the Spartans of York College of Pennsylvania in action from the Spartan Tennis Center.

Logan Gregory teamed with
Jason Homschek to pick up an 8-3 victory at No. 1 singles. Junior
Nick Harth and partner
Joe Lennon cruised to an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 position, while
Aidan Temple and
Sam Cadman earned the walkover victory at No. 3.
In singles action, York earned its only victory at No. 1 singles as Gregory was topped by Tej Laliwala 6-4, 6-2. From that point on though, the Monarchs got strong play down the lineup starting first at No. 2 singles as Harth posted a straight set 6-1, 6-2 win over Michael Spagnoli.
Homschek also claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, while Lennon earned his first collegiate victory with a 6-2, 6-4 straight set triumph. At No. 5, the most competitive match of the day was played between Cadman and Matthew Christian of York, as Cadman earned a 7-6 (6) win in the opening set. Christian responded with a 7-5 win in the second set, but Cadman took the super-tiebreaker 10-7 to take the match.
Nick Holland picked up the win by walkover win at No. 6 for the Monarchs. The Monarchs will have next weekend off before hosting Misericordia University at Kirby Park at 3 p.m. in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom action.
