EDWARDSVILLE, PA (April 14, 2021) -- The King's College women's tennis team (0-4, 0-2 MAC Freedom) couldn't get things going against Wilkes University Wednesday, as the Colonels swept the Monarchs 9-0 in action from Ralston Athletic Complex.
In doubles play, Wilkes (5-0, 2-0 MAC Freedom) took an advantage early with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles as first-years
Jackie Costello and
Braelan Drollas were bested 8-1.
Addie Atkins and
Lauren Lamarca fell 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, and
Diana Rodriguez and
Alexis Zalutko were topped 8-2 at No. 1 pairs.
In singles, Lamarca played well but was defeated 6-1, 6-4 in singles at the No. 4 spot, while Wilkes was able to control the rest of the flights in a 9-0 win.
The Monarchs will host DeSales University Saturday at 11 a.m. in MAC Freedom play from Kirby Park.
