WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 28, 2021) -- The Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology were shorthanded with just four players Wednesday, but still managed to earn a 6-3 win over the King's College women's tennis team in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) action from Kirby Park.
The Monarchs (0-8, 0-6 MAC Freedom) were able to take advantage with default wins at No. 3 doubles and the bottom two spots in singles, but Stevens surrendered just seven more games over the final six matches to earn the win.
The most competitive match for the Monarchs came at No. 2 doubles, as juniors
Lauren Lamarca and
Mikayla Reynolds tested Juliette Marchisio and Gabriella Tantillo before the Stevens duo captured an 8-3 win.
King's will host FDU-Florham Saturday at noon in the MAC Freedom season finale, while also honoring its seniors prior to the match.
