Gus Petruske IV and
Billy Grace each earned pins for the King's College wrestling squad in a dual meet loss at Lycoming College on Saturday afternoon.
After dropping the opening bout of the day at 125, King's responded strong at 133 as Petruske earned an early first period pin on Thomas Conselyea of the Warriors at the 1:40 mark. The fall marked Petruske's fifth of the season.
Lycoming controlled the middle weights, earning four consecutive wins at 141, 149, 157, and 165 to take a 20-8 lead over the Monarchs.
Kade Kravits then earned a statement win for King's at 174, notching a 16-0 tech fall win while controlling the entire match.
Billy Grace followed built off the momentum from Kravits and earned a fall over Matthew Knapp of Lycoming at 184. Grace's pin came late in the second period at the 5:44 mark and brought the Monarchs within three points of the Warriors with the score at 20-17.
Lycoming would go on to earn pins in the final two matches to secure a 32-17 win over King's.
King's will return home next for a tri-match against SUNY Oswego and Lackawanna on Saturday, February 5th at 1:00 PM.
