Emily Morano came up three points shy of her career high as she recorded 34 points in the King's College women's basketball team's 75-58 win over the visiting Delaware Valley University Aggies in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday afternoon in McGrane Gymnasium. The Monarchs extend their win streak to four games as they improve to 12-6 overall and 6-3 in MAC Freedom play, while the Aggies drop to 5-10 overall, 1-7 against conference opponents.
A slow start to the opening quarter saw the Monarchs ahead 5-2 with 6:57 left in the quarter before King's (12-6, 6-3 MAC Freedom) closed the quarter on a 16-9 run to hold a 21-11 advantage at the first break. The Monarchs led by as much as 16, 40-24, off a steal and finish from senior

A Rajza free throw put the Monarchs ahead, 56-37, with 2:37 to play in the third before two Delaware Valley (5-10, 1-7 MAC Freedom) threes to end the quarter saw the hosts ahead, 56-43. The final quarter was more of the same as the King's lead swelled to its highest, 72-47, off a Morano layup in transition off a steal from sophomore

Morano also came up one rebound shy of a double-double, recording 34 points on 12-of-20 shooting, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, with nine boards and a career-high four blocks. First year
Alli Lindsay came off the bench to add 12 points and a team-high three steals, while Rajza totaled nine points, seven boards, and four assists. Fellow-senior
Emily Kriston dished out a team-best seven assists with seven caroms and three steals, and sophomore
Caileigh Costello lent out four helpers.
Lauren Moretti led Delaware Valley with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Haley Keenan added 22 points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists in a complete 40-minute game.
King's shot 40.9 percent (27-66) from the field for the game while holding the Aggies to 36.2 percent from the floor and 19 percent (4-21) from three. The Monarchs also shared the ball well as they totaled 20 assists on 27 field goals and won the battle on the boards, 39-36. King's also forced 17 Aggies turnovers, collecting 11 steals, and took care of the ball as they only committed 10 turnovers.
Inside the stat sheet, King's held the advantage in points off turnovers (15-11), bench points (16-4), points in the paint (34-30), and fast break points (14-4).
King's is back in action on Wednesday evening in MAC Freedom play as they host the Warriors of Lycoming College at 6:00 p.m. The Monarchs will also be celebrating Camper Appreciation Day as well as National Women and Girls in Sport Day in McGrane Gymnasium.
