WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 13, 2022) -- The King's College Monarchs wrestling team announced their schedule on Thursday afternoon for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The team will be under the leadership of third-year head coach Josh Roosa. They are set to host an invitational, a quad-meet, two dual meets and a tri-meet at McGrane Gymnasium.
The Monarchs will start the season at home, as they will host the annual Ned McGinley Invitational on November 5. Following this, the team will be on the road until mid-December where they will travel to the Rachich Rumble at Ursinus College, the Keystone Pool Tournament, and the Messiah Petrofes Invitational.
They return home on December 19 for a quad-match with New Jersey City University, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and Penn College. After this, the Monarchs will hit the road for the Wilkes Open at Wilkes University on December 22. This will be their final matchup of 2022.
The Monarchs will begin 2023 on the road at Bloomsburg University and Alvernia University. King's will compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on January 21 at York College (Pa.). Their first home matchups of 2023 will be against Delaware Valley University on January 27 at 7:00 p.m. and Lycoming College the following day at 1:00 p.m.
The month of February will begin with another three road matches at Keystone College, Oswego State and Centenary University (NJ). The final home matchup of the year is scheduled for a February 12 tri-match against Scranton University and Hunter College starting at 2:00 p.m. The season will wrap up with another matchup just outside the backdoor at Wilkes on February 17 and the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on the 24 and 25 of February.
