Women's Swimming Falls to Cabrini in First Road Meet

RADNOR, PA (October 22, 2022) -- The King's College Monarchs women's swimming team had their first road meet on Saturday afternoon, where they fell to the Cabrini University Cavaliers 128-42. With this loss the Monarchs fall to 0-2 on the season. Cabrini starts out the season 1-0. The two wins for the Monarchs on the day were by junior Jamie Navarro.

The day opened up with the 200 yard medley relay. The Cabrini team of sophomore Abby Windon, first year Gia Markakis, sophomore Kate Ziegler and first year Kylie Carney finished with a time of 2:04.61. The Monarch team of sophomore Maddison Quick, Navarro, graduate student Liz Savidge and sophomore Roni McClelland finished with a time of 2:06.25.

The next event for King's was the women's 200 yard freestyle where Quick finished in second out of four swimmers with a time of 2:11.62. In the 50 free MClelland finished in second with a time of 30.19.

The Monarch women got their first win of the day in the 200 yard IM, where Navarro came out on top with a time of 2:28.33. Teammate Savidge finished close behind at 2:28.94. Quick finished in second in the 100 free at 59.30.

The next event for Savidge was the 100 back where she finished in third at 1:08.68. Navarro got the second Monarch win of the day in the 100 breast with a time of 1:17.70. This was the final event of the day for the Monarch women. 

The team will have their first quad-meet next Saturday at Widener University in Chester, PA starting at 1:00 p.m. They will also face Messiah University at Hood College that day.
