DALLAS, PA (October 25, 2022) --- The King's College men's soccer team traveled to Dallas, PA to take on the Misericordia University Cougars on Tuesday night, falling to the Cougars 4-0. With the loss King's falls to 4-12-2 on the season and 0-7 in MAC play, while Misericordia improves to 10-3-4 and 5-2 in conference play.

It was a fast start for Misericordia (10-3-4, 5-2) who opened the contest with the first four corner kicks and first two shots of the contest within the opening nine minutes. King's (4-12-2, 0-7) responded by getting their first shot of the match at 9:26 from junior Mike Davies. After another shot and corner kick for the Cougars, Misericordia opened the scoring as Anthony Yarabinee found the net a 16:14. It did not take long for the Cougars to double their lead as Max Gariano finished off a Luke Ferrarese pass to make it 2-0 at 22:28. Down 2-0, the Monarchs responded mounting some pressure, notching four of the next five shots, with Davies and firs-year Luke Ferre tallying one, while senior Justin Decoteau added two, but King's was unable to breakthrough and trailed at the half 2-0.

The second half began much like the first, after two shots and two corners from the Cougars, Misericordia made the advantage three, as Gariano once again finished off an assist from Ferrarese in the 63rd minute. The Cougars made it four nine minutes later, on a header from Drew Weaver. King's mounted some late pressure as sophomore Evan Egnatovich recorded two shots, while junior Christopher Vollrath added another, but it was not to be as the Monarchs fell 4-0.
Misericordia held the edge on shots 19-11, including a 7-4 lead on shots on target, while also holding a 12-4 advantage on corner kicks.

The Monarchs' attack was led by Davies and Egnatovich who both recorded three shots, including one on target each. Decoteau added two shots, with one on target, while Ferre, Vollrath, and senior Aziz Atiyeh all collected one shot. Junior Jake Forst made the start in net making three saves on seven shots.
