CENTER VALLEY, PA (November 30, 2022) -- Facing a nationally ranked opponent on the road, the King's College women's basketball team battled for the entirety of the match up before falling, 77-35, on the road at #22/#23 DeSales University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in MAC Freedom play, while the Bulldogs remain unbeaten at 6-0 with a 1-0 conference mark.

King's (1-7, 0-2 MAC Freedom) battled early after a five-point spurt from sophomore
Alli Lindsay pulled the Monarchs within one, 6-5, with 6:23 to go in the quarter. Three scoreless minutes saw the host DeSales (6-0, 1-0 MAC Freedom) get back in the scoring column and close the quarter holding a 15-5 lead over the Monarchs.

The Monarchs would battle throughout the remainder of the contest, scoring 18 points in the third quarter, but the halftime deficit would prove costly as the Monarchs fell, 75-33

Sophomore
Alli Lindsay led the Monarchs offense off the bench with nine points, shooting 3-of-6 from the field and 2-for-4 from three, in just 11 minutes of action. Junior
Brenna Costello tallied seven points with five boards, while fellow-junior
Kiersten Krouse led King's on the glass with six caroms. Additionally, sophomore
Lauren Casey added five rebounds for the Monarchs.

Lindsey Welsh led the DeSales offense with 14 points, adding six boards and three steals, while Mikaela Reese tallied 12 points, six rebounds, five blocks, and three steals.

King's will open their MAC Freedom home slate on Saturday afternoon as they host Delaware Valley University in the first game of the doubleheader. Tip off is set for 1:00 p.m. in McGrane Gymnasium.
