WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 4, 2022)-- The King's College Monarchs women's swimming team hosted their first tri-meet of the season on Friday night at Scandlon Natatorium. They fell to FDU Florham 157-28 and Lebanon Valley College 107-64. With these losses the Monarchs fall to 0-7 on the season.
The first event of the night was the 200 yard medley relay. This event saw a hard-fought effort from the Monarchs team of graduate student
Liz Savidge, sophomore
Roni McClelland, junior
Jamie Navarro, and sophomore
Maddison Quick. The team finished under a second behind FDU-Florham with a time of 2:05.05, good for second place.
The next women's event to feature King's was the 200 yard freestyle. Quick finished in third out of nine swimmers at 2:10.42. Next came the 50 free which saw McClelland come in seventh.
The team would come in third and fourth place in the 200 yard individual medley. Navarro registered a time of 2:28.61 while Savidge finished at 2:33.31.
The Monarchs would see three consecutive second place finishes in their final three events. Savidge had a second place finish at 1:07.05 in the 100 yard butterfly. The next came in the 100 free. This one came from Quick at 59.27. The third and final was from Navarro in the 100 breast, coming in at 1:17.82. McClelland also competed in the event and came in sixth.
The Monarchs will hit the road again next Friday and take on Arcadia University starting at 6:00 p.m.
