CENTER VALLEY, PA (February 23, 2022) -- The King's College men's basketball fell on the road in the MAC Freedom Quarterfinals on Wednesday night to top-ranked DeSales, 104-45, to finish their 2021-22 season. The Monarchs wrap up the year with an 8-16 overall record.
It was a slow start by both teams on Wednesday night as King's (8-16) led 4-2 with 18:17 to go in the opening half. DeSales (22-4) went on a tear as they held the Monarchs without a field goal over the next 8:15 to lead 25-16. The Bulldogs lead continued to swell as King's trailed, 45-16, at the half.

Noah Tanner sparked a 5-0 run to start the second half, successfully completing a three-point play off a steal from sophomore
Carmine Castiello. DeSales got the hot hand again after trading a few baskets with the Monarchs. The deficit continued to grow down the stretch, as DeSales posted the 104-45 final in the MAC Freedom Quarterfinals in Billera Hall on Wednesday night.
Tanner paced the Monarchs in the loss with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Castiello added eight points with a team-high four rebounds and two steals.
DeSales was led by Timmy Edwards with 18 points and nine boards, while Matt Kachelries dished out 10 assists with five boards in the win.
The Monarchs defense forced 11 Bulldogs turnovers while collecting five steals in the loss. King's also saw 17 points from its bench.
