Logan Gregory and the No. 2 doubles pair of first year
Patrick Pech and sophomore
Aidan Temple earned wins as the King's College men's tennis team fell, 7-2, at Susquehanna University on Sunday afternoon.
Gregory earned his win at No. 1 singles over Emil Vyskocil as Gregory fell in the first set by a score of 6-3 before tying the match with a set two win of 7-5. Gregory edged out Vyskocil in the tie breaker, 10-8, to earn the win for the Monarchs.
At No. 2 singles, first year
Tommy Hallahan dropped matching sets of 6-1 to Josh Sanderson. Then at No. 3 singles, Pech fell by set scores of 6-1, 6-2 to Henrik Sandstede. In No. 4 singles play, Temple fell by scores of 6-0 to Tim Basta. First year
Cody Zheng lost 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles to John Duncan, and first year
Jacob Nelson rounded out singles action at No. 6 singles with set scores of 6-2 and 6-1 to Alex Baker.
The No. 2 doubles pair of Pech and Temple earned a gritty 8-6 win over the River Hawks pair of Ethan Cooley and Conor Ryan.
In No. 1 doubles play, the Monarchs duo of Gregory and Hallahan fell, 8-3 to the River Hawks, while in No. 3 3 doubles, Zheng and senior Nick Hart dropped an 8-1 decision to Susquehanna.
The Monarchs are back in action on Saturday, March 26 as they travel to Lebanon Valley College to take on the Dutchmen at 1:00 p.m.
