ANNVILLE, PA (March 26, 2022) -- In a shortened match due to inclement weather, the King's College men's tennis team was blanked by the host Lebanon Valley, 8-0, in Annville, Pa. on Saturday.
In singles play, junior
Logan Gregory was defeated at No. 1 singles by Justin Schuetz by scores of 6-2 and 6-0. At No. 2 singles, first year
Tommy Hallahan was shut out by Jeffrey Bauer by matching sets of 6-0. First year
Patrick Pech fell by a pair of 6-2 sets to Brendan Byler at No. 3 singles, while sophomore
Aidan Temple dropped t-3 and 6-2 decisions at No. 4 singles to Brady McLucas. Then in No. 5 singles action, first year
Cody Zheng was defeated by scores of 6-1 to Michael Schuetz, and first year
Jacob Nelson's match at No. 6 singles against Nicholas Simon was unfinished due to weather after falling 6-4 in the opening set.
In doubles action, Gregory and Hallahan lost a hard-fought 8-6 final to the Dutchmen pair at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Pech and Temple fell 8-0, while Zheng and Nelson also fell by a matching 8-0 score to the Dutchmen at No. 3 doubles.
The Monarchs are back in action in their spring season home opener against Clarks Summit University on Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Kirby Park.
