ANNVILLE, PA (March 26, 2022) -- The King's College women's tennis team fell on the road at Lebanon Valley College, 7-0, on Saturday as the match was shortened due to inclement weather in the area.
In singles play, junior
Addie Atkins was defeated, 6-1 and 6-0, to Jacquelyn McBride. At No. 2 singles, first year
Ashley Kenia dropped matching set scores of 6-1 to Nicole Honrade. Then in No. 3 singles play, sophomore
Briana Moraca fell 6-0 in the opening set before battling back in set two and dropping a heartbreaker, 7-6 (7-4) to Meredith Haas. The No. 4 singles saw junior
Emily Morano lose to Madison Poladian, 6-1 and 6-2.
Both the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches were unfinished. Prior to that, first year
Hailey D'Amato was trailing, 6-3 and 6-5, to Sarah Kramer at No. 5 singles, and sophomore
Jackie Costello was facing a 5-1 deficit in her first set to Eliana Shenk at No. 6 singles.
At No. 1 doubles, Atkins and Kenia fell 8-2 to the Dutchmen pair. Then in No. 2 doubles, D'Amato and Morano fought for an 8-4 loss, while sophomore
Braelan Drollas and first year
Sarah Stettler lost 8-0 to Lebanon Valley.
The Monarchs will host Clarks Summit University in their spring home opener at Kirby Park at 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
