WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 23, 2022) -- The King's College men's tennis team used the momentum from Thursday's non-conference win to defeat Arcadia University, 6-3, in MAC Freedom play on Saturday afternoon at Kirby Park.
Four different Monarchs earned wins in singles play. Junior
Logan Gregory picked up a win at No. 1 singles as he defeated Elias Duthinh, 6-3 and 6-4. First year
Patrick Pech earned a win of matching sets of 6-2, while first year
Cody Zheng defeated Ryan Salmon 6-3 in the first set before dropping set two, 7-5. Zheng muscled out a 6-4 win in the final set to earn the win. First year
Jacob Nelson earned matching set scores of 6-2 at No. 6 singles against David Cassel.
The doubles pair of first year
Tommy Hallahan and sophomore
Aidan Temple defeated the Knights pair by a score of 8-3. Zheng and Nelson then teamed up to hand the Knights an 8-6 loss at No. 3 doubles.
Hallahan fell at No. 2 doubles by matching scores of 6-0 to Jonathan Noble, while Temple dropped sets of 6-1 and 6-4 to Matthew Nagy at No. 4 singles. The No. 1 doubles pair of Gregory and Pech lost by a score of 8-4 to the Knights.
King's is back in action tomorrow morning as they take on FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom play at 11:00 a.m.
