MADISON, NJ (April 23, 2022) -- In their second match in as many days, the King's College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom play on Sunday morning. The Monarchs fall to 6-10 overall and 1-3 in the MAC Freedom, while the Devils improve to 7-2 with a 4-1 conference mark.
First year
Jacob Nelson earned the lone win of the match for the Monarchs at No. 6 singles, defeating CJ Milano by matching set scores of 6-2.
The No. 1 singles match saw junior
Logan Gregory fall, 6-1 and 6-0, to Sergio De La Garza. First year
Tommy Hallahan lost, 6-1 and 6-2, to Joni Carasso. At No. 3 singles, first year
Patrick Pech dropped sets of 6-4 and 6-0 to Zach Puccia. Matthew Emery blanked sophomore
Aidan Temple by matching sets of 6-0 at No. 4 singles, and first year
Cody Zheng rounded out singles play with 6-2 and 6-1 set losses to Brandon Schwartz.
In doubles play, Gregory and Pech dropped an 8-2 decision to the Devils. Hallahan and Temple lost by a score of 8-1 to the Devils pair at No. 2 doubles, while Zheng and Nelson fell by a score of 8-1 at No. 3 doubles to finish out the match.
King's will conclude the final week of the regular season as they hit the road to take on Lycoming College tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in Williamsport before traveling to take on DeSales University on Saturday.
