WILLIAMSPORT, PA (April 25, 2022) -- Junior Emily Morano earned wins at both no. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles as the King's College women's tennis team earned an important MAC Freedom win, 6-3, over Lycoming College on Monday afternoon. The Monarchs improve to 4-11 overall with their third straight win and 3-3 in the MAC Freedom standings, while the Warriors fall to 7-9 with a 1-5 conference mark.

King's earned five wins in singles competition as first year Ashley Kenia picked up a win at No. 1 singles in a real battle, falling 6-0 in the opening set before returning the score in set two. Kenia defeated Hannah Seebold 6-1 in the third set to earn the win. In another battle, sophomore Briana Moraca defeated Emily Wolfgang after falling 7-6 (7-3) in the first stanza but rallied back to blank the Warrior, 6-0, in set two and earning a solid 6-2 win in the third.

Morano earned her win as she handily defeated Wiliana Lundy by scores of 6-1 and 6-0, while sophomore Jackie Costello earned her own wins of 6-1 and 6-2 over Haley Seebold at No. 5 singles. Fellow-sophomore Braelan Drollas posted wins of 6-2 and 6-4 at No. 6 singles to round out the individual competition for the match.

The Monarchs also earned a win at No. 2 doubles as Morano paired up with first year Hailey D'Amato to earn the gritty 8-6 win over the Warriors pair.

The No. 4 singles competition saw D'Amato fall, 6-1 and 6-2, to Rei Saar in her milestone match. In doubles play, Kenia and Moraca dropped an 8-3 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Costello and Drollas fell 8-3 at No. 3 doubles to the Warriors pair.

The Monarchs will conclude their 2022 regular season matches on Saturday as they travel to DeSales University for the MAC Freedom match. Start time is set for 11:00 a.m. in Center Valley, Pa.
