Lycoming struck first, taking advantage of an early Monarch penalty to put themselves up 1-0 under a minute into the contest. The Monarchs bounced right back, as Martin would find the back of the net for his first goal of the game to even the score at 1 with 12:08 left in the first quarter. The Warriors quickly took advantage as they went on a 3 goal run to make the score 4-1 with 8:21 left in the quarter. First year
Ben Spencer put an end to the run, scoring on an extra man opportunity for the Monarchs, off the assist from first year
Matt Kimberlin. By the 4:04 mark in the first quarter, Lycoming added another 2 to their growing total, drawing the score to 6-2 I favor of the Warriors. Martin again found the back of the net, this time knocking the Warriors lead down to 3 as the scored remained 6-3 with 3:28 left in the quarter. Lycoming managed to sneak 1 more in with just 14 seconds left in the quarter to put themselves ahead 7-3 at the break.
Alec Martin got both teams going in the second quarter, scoring a little over 2 minutes in. Another 3 goal run for Lycoming gave them a 10-4 advantage before graduate student
Gabe Vansuch could bookend their run to make the score 10-5 at the halftime break.
Both teams struggled offensively in the third quarter, with neither team scoring until the clock read 3:31. Lycoming broke open the scoring and managed to put together another 3 goal series to close out the quarter. The Monarchs came up scoreless in the third, and finished the quarter down 8 as the score read 13-5.
Another slow start to the fourth quarter led to
Brendan Gambino netting the first of his 2 goals at the 10:26 mark, closing the gap to 7. Lycoming scored once before Gambino rounded out his points for the game and the scoring for the Monarchs as King's trailed 14-7 late in the fourth quarter. An extra man goal and an even strength goal for the Warriors later, the Monarchs fell 16-7 to host Lycoming.

Alec Martin netted 3 of his own while snagging 3 ground balls.
Ben Spencer added 1 goal of his own and dished out 2 assists, one on each of Gambino's goals, and he scooped up 4 ground balls. Junior
Matt Wall played the full 60 minutes between the pipes, tying his career high 24 saves yet again. Wall also picked up 5 ground balls.
The Warriors were led by Owen Zimmerman who finished up with 8 points on 4 goals and 4 assists while racking up 18 shots. Ben Franco played 3 quarters in net for Lycoming, stopping 6 along the way.
The Monarchs return home next Wednesday, April 13 for a 7 PM MAC Freedom contest with Misericordia.
