WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 25, 2022) - Day two of the King's College Invitational for men's tennis on Sunday was scheduled to feature six different Monarchs in the semi-finals for the singles tournaments. While some of the games happened, the tournament was once again cut short due to rain. Two Monarchs finished the day with inconclusive results. Nonetheless, the team battled hard in their day two semi-finals matchups.
Playing in the No. 1 singles bracket wasÂ
Logan Gregory.  The senior had previously made the semi-finals in the shortened Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Championships two weeks prior. This time around, he fell to top-seeded James Harrington of the University of Scranton in the semi-finals 6-2 and 6-1.
The No. 2 singles was where the Monarchs saw their most successful performance on the day. Sophomore
Patrick Pech took a competitive first set 7-5 over FDU Florham's Matthew Emery. In the second set, Pech had a 3-1 lead before it was stopped.Â
The No. 3 singles bracket featured graduate student
Nick Harth, who like Gregory was scheduled to take part in the MAC Individual Championships semi-finals. In this matchup, Harth lost to John Duncan of Susquehanna University by scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
First year
Brendan Turowski faced off against second seeded John Sinclair of Scranton in the No. 4 singles. After he dropped the first set 6-2 Turowski put up a fight in set two. In the end he fell short dropping set two (6-4).
The No. 5 singles was another matchup that did not make it to the end. Sophomore
Cody Zheng was knotted up at two in the first set with FDU-Florham's Karanveer Saini.
Sophomore
Jacob Nelson was defeated by Jaden Andresen in the No. 6 singles bracket by scores of 6-3 and a close 6-4.Â
The Invitational was the last action the men's tennis team will see in the fall. The women's tennis team will host the same tournament next weekend.
