WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 14, 2023) -- After enjoying the holiday break and returning from their annual training trip in Florida, the King's College women's swimming team returned to the pool on Saturday afternoon and were edge out by the visiting Lycoming College, 87-45, in the Scandlon Natatorium. The Monarchs drop to 0-9 in dual meets, while the Warriors improve to 3-3.

King's saw swimmers compete in their first event of the meet in the 200-yard freestyle as
Maddison Quick finished second in 2:13.45.
Roni McClelland made her first appearance of the meet as she posted a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 30.78 seconds.

Navarro finished second in back-to-back events as she recorded a time of 2:32.13 in the 200-yard individual medley just behind Lycoming's Cathryn Brought before finishing in 1:09.48 in the 100-yard butterfly. The pair of Quick and McClelland competed in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing second and third respectively, as Quick posted a time of 1:00.74 and McClelland finished in 1:09.84.

Quick picked up her first individual win of the day as she recorded a time of 6:12.44 in the 500-yard freestyle. Navarro followed suit as she won the 100-yard breaststroke in1:19.39, while McClelland finished second in the event in 1:26.17 to finish off the meet for the Monarchs as they fell, 87-45, to the visiting Warriors on Saturday afternoon.

King's will hit the road to finish their dual meets, making their first trip up to Misericordia University on Saturday, January 21. The meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
