WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 28, 2023) -- In their final dual meet of the 2022-23 season, the King's College women's swimming team earned their first team victory of the season, defeating cross-town rival Wilkes University, 57-12, on Saturday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley CYC. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 1-10 overall in dual meets, while the Colonels fall to 0-12.

Maddison Quick picked up her first win of the meet in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 2:11.99, while
Jamie Navarro and
Roni McClelland took the top two spots in the 50-yard freestyle with Navarro crossing in 28.48 seconds and McClelland recording a time of 29.13 seconds.

In the 100-yard freestyle, it was Quick and Navarro to finish first and second, respectively, as Quick recorded a time of 58.94 seconds and Navarro came in with a 1:02.70. Quick earned her third top finish of the day in the 100-yard backstroke as she crossed in 1:12.88.

The 100-yard breaststroke saw Navarro and McClelland repeat as the top two finishers with Navarro winning the event in 1:17.10 and McClelland recording a mark of 1:21.07 for the final event of the meet, securing the 57-12 win for King's.

King's will now set their sights on the 2023 MAC Championship meet hosted by York College (Pa.) in the Graham Aquatic Center from February 9 to February 12.
