DALLAS, PA (October 28, 2023) -- Junior
Owen Foytack collected his first All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) honors in his cross country career as he lead the King's College men's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the 2023 MAC Cross Country Championships. The Monarchs totaled 294 points on the 8,000-meter course at Misericordia's Letterkenny Fields.
Foytack placed 16
th overall in 28:02.6 to earn All-MAC Second Team accolades.
Tyler Petty was next to finish as he cracked the top-100 and finished 85
th in 30:53.3, while
Logan Taylor was not far behind as he finished in 30:59.0 and 87
th place.
Casey Weaver had a strong race in his first appearance of the 2023 season, posting a time of 33:09.8, while
Andrew Novrocki recorded a time of 33:25.1.
Eric Johnson (33:56.8) and
Travis Lane (34:13.8) rounded out the Monarch runners in the meet.
DeSales men won the team title with 37 points, while Stephen Rowley of Misericordia was the individual champion and MAC Men's Runner of the Year. Lebanon Valley's Matthew Santana collected MAC Rookie of the Year honors, while DeSales coach Al Weiner was named MAC Coach of the Year.
King's will now begin their final preparations for the 2023 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday, November 11. The meet will be hosted by Lock Haven University at the West Branch Cross Country Course.
