DUNMORE, PA (November 14, 2023) -- The junior duo of
Chris Patton and
Eamonn Walsh led the King's College men's basketball team to an 85-57 win on the road on Tuesday night at Penn State Scranton. The Monarchs snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 2-2 overall, while the Nittany Lions fall to 3-3.

Trailing 10-6 with 15:23 to go in the opening half, King's (2-2) went on a 13-2 tear to hold a 19-12 advantage with 11:17 remaining. Penn State Scranton (3-3) climbed back within two, 19-17, before a three from
Jaden Hall sparked a 15-0 rally that included six points from Walsh to see the Monarchs jump ahead, 34-17, with 4:03 on the first-half clock. King's maintained their double-digit edge at the break, leading the Nittany Lions 38-28 heading into the locker room.

After giving up the first basket of the second half, the Monarchs took control and never looked back in the second half, leading by double digits for 18:23 on their way to the 85-57 final in Penn State Scranton's Multi-Purpose Building.

Patton and Walsh each posted 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting, with Walsh adding seven boards and four assists, while Patton posted six rebounds.
Carmine Castiello tallied 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting with a team-high five assists and four caroms, while Hall came off the bench to tally 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three.
Jake Karnish pulled down a team-leading 11 rebounds to go with four points and three assists, while
Garrett Burys added eight boards and seven points.

The host Nittany Lions were led by Marcus Delesline with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds with three assists, while Gary Natale Jr. added 11 points off the bench.

As a team, the Monarchs connected on 39% of their shots, going 30-for-77 with eight made threes and assisting on 18 baskets. The defense limited Penn State Scranton to 32.9% from the floor (24-73) and a grim 28.6% (8-28) from three. King's scored 17 points off the Nittany Lions' 15 turnovers, while dominating the rebounding margin, 51-35, in the win. Additionally, the Monarchs bench out scored Penn State Scranton, 30-20, and had the edge in second-chance points (10-6), points in the paint (20-12), and fast break points (8-4).

King's will wrap up their five-game road stretch to start the 2023-24 season on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Elizabethtown College for a 2:00 p.m. tip off in the non-conference match up.
