WILKES-BARRE, PA (December 19, 2023) -- Ahead of the holidays, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) unveiled their 2023 Academic All-District® Football teams. Among this year's honorees were five from the King's College football program as
Mike DiGregorio,
Marko Galetovic,
Joachim McElroy,
Nate McGlone, and
Jared Reto all received recognition for their efforts in the classroom.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
This is the second year in a row that McGlone and Reto achieved the accolade, while DiGregorio, Galetovic, and McElroy pick up their first career honors. DiGregorio, McGlone, and Reto all earned All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) honors this season, while McGlone collected D3football.com All-Region 1 accolades to help lead the Monarchs through yet another successful campaign in 2023. Galetovic joined McGlone as an important member of the offensive line unit that supported an offense that averaged 335.6 yards per game, while DiGregorio led the Monarchs with 557 yards on 44 catches with seven touchdowns for an average of 50.64 yards per contest. On the defensive side of the ball, Reto had a breakout campaign where he ranked second on the team with 77 total tackles, adding 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, four break ups, and two hurries, while McElroy was a valuable member of the defensive rotation and an important cog on special teams units throughout the season.
