OWINGS MILLS, MD (December 29, 2023) -- In their first game following the holiday break, the King's College women's basketball team came out to a strong start before falling, 82-36, on the road at Stevenson University on Friday afternoon. The Monarchs now stand at 3-7 overall, while the Mustangs improved to 4-6.

The opening quarter was an exciting start with each team trading possessions. King's (3-7) held an 8-7 lead on a jumper from Caileigh Costello with 3:59 left in the first, but a 5-0 spurt from Stevenson (4-6) boosted the host Mustangs on their way to a 14-11 edge at the end of the frame. The Mustangs had a strong shooting quarter in the second as they opened the scoring, but back-to-back threes from Brenna Costello and Gianna Dickson to end the half saw the Monarchs trailing, 40-20, at the break.

Stevenson carried that hot second period into the final two quarters as they outscored King's 42-16 on their way to the 82-36 final on the road in Owings Mills Gymnasium on Friday afternoon.
